Names

Received a farewell gift from my colleague, it was a cup.

‘Everything about your letter J’

It got me pondering, Names.

Everyone has got one, a unique name, but yet there is little emphasize on it. I too am guilty of that. Yet parents go through a whole ordeal of finding/ choosing the ‘right’ name for their children. Our names do define who we are and what we are, the strength and power that comes with it. I wonder what I would name my kids.

Here are certain things that are written on the cup:

‘If your name starts with J, you have a Jubilant personality. Just like January, you are the first, but you also bring out the sun like June and July. In cards, you are the Joker, the most valuable card in the pack. For friends and family you are Jovial and you are always there for them with your Jumbo heart. You work hard but still have lots of Joie de vivre. You are a Jewel’

‘You have a high Emotional Quotient, which helps you to feel people perfectly. This beautiful gift will help you for the rest of your life. You are reliable and loyal to family and friends, which will bring you prosperity and happiness. Your great efforts will ensure that you will reach the goals that you have set for yourself. Therefore do not change anything about yourself and keep going. You will continue to be successful.’

I pretty much see myself in it.

But yet, I’m just so tired.

a trip down memory lane

scrolling down the list of friends in Facebook;

thought to myself how much things/people have since changed;

it struck me;

we all grew up;

and we all are still growing;

wonder what would it be like 10 years down the road.

what would you do?

stumbled upon this article, and just found it interesting.

a food for thought

it was an interview with some indian yoga master.

Question:

What is your advice to professionals who say they love yoga but find they have no time to practice it?

Answer:

To say there is no time is a nonsensical and stupid statement. You have time to chat, you have time to wait for coffee, you have time to waste hours at a party. to say there’s no time to take care of one’s health and happiness is a ridiculous thing.

What would you do for someone/something that you love?
